You'll be happy to know that despite rising costs, cheap trips are still available - you just need to know how to find them, and how to get the most from every dollar you spend.

And maybe even more importantly, you want to know when offers for cheap or free trips are really just rip offs. Believe me, the last thing you want to do is spend your hard-earned vacation time in some seedy hotel!

Great Travel Deals
Find your best deals
on airfare, hotels, cruises,
all-inclusive trips, etc.
Would you like to learn how to reduce your travel costs by more than a third? Believe it or not, there's a simple method that anybody can use to do so.

Booking Online

The best place to find inexpensive vacations, and to compare air fare costs, is through an Internet booking site. Generally, there are 2 rules of thumb that will help you to get the best deal on travel:

  • Book as early as possible, locking in current prices

  • If your schedule is flexible, book last minute trips. Often times you can get a great deal on hotels and cruise ships that are under booked.

Be aware that you may pay more for air fare when booking last minute trips. In most cases the savings on your other vacation expenses will far outweigh the additional cost of airline tickets.

Weekly Travel Offers

Some online travel sites even offer a newsletter that is emailed to you weekly, keeping you informed of upcoming cheap trips.

Buyer Beware

Last but not least, let's talk about vacations from hell. You've worked hard all year for your vacation, so you don't want to get ripped off!

Many of us have received mail notifying us that we've won a great vacation, airline tickets, or even a free cruise. Beware of these offers, and know that they most often come with strings attached. For example, you may be required to attend a very high pressure sales presentation in exchange for your vacation gift.

Whether or not there is a presentation involved, most of these free or cheap trips provide cheap hotels rooms and services. Have you heard the old saying, "you get what you pay for"? Please keep this in mind if considering an offer that seems too good to be true!

If you've received an offer that sounds inviting, be sure to get specifics. Free does not always mean no charge! You may receive a buy one, get one free voucher, or be responsible for hidden charges.

For example, do you know that a free cruise will most likely include fees such as taxes, miscellaneous fees, and gratuities that could amount to hundreds of dollars? Please do your homework before signing up for cheap trips that sound too good to be true!
