Disney Vacation Packages & Resorts

Online travel booking sites are full of Disney vacation packages, but I'd like to take this a step further by detailing some of your many choices, to help you to get your very best deal.

You'll have to do a bit of comparing and calculating to figure out if you're better off to book an inclusive package, or to purchase your accommodations in a Walt Disney World resort separately from your theme park tickets.

All Inclusive Disney Vacation Packages

If you're planning to go all out and stay in a Walt Disney resort, you have many different options, each catering to unique likes and dislikes.

Typically Disney vacation packages may be purchased with or without air transportation, which includes your hotel stay and theme park tickets. Some packages also offer meal services and extras like shows, for you to select from.

If you'd like to make your Disney vacation just a bit more special by adding a cruise, the Disney cruise line will happily accommodate you!

On the other hand, if your family is more into "roughing it", you may be interested in Fort Wilderness, Disney's full service campground.

Of course, there are a number of resorts that you can choose from as well, each with a different flair.

Vacationing in Disney

Staying in a Walt Disney World resort, being pampered to the max, and being close to the attractions - can life get any better?

Actually, yes! Disney vacation packages are chock full of extra goodies. As a Disney resort guest, you'll receive special considerations such as Extra Magic Hours, free transportation to and from the airport, package delivery, and transportation to and from the theme parks.

Extra Magic Hours

Disney vacation packages that include a stay in a Walt Disney resort entitle you to spend extra time in 1 of the theme parks each day. Just imagine wandering through the parks, with no crowds and short lines - this is one great benefit that help to make Disney vacation packages extra special.

This Extra Magic Hours feature is available for 1 predetermined theme park each day, which either opens 1 hour before schedule or remains open for up to 3 hours after scheduled closing. When you check into your Disney Resort, you'll receive a schedule which specifies the parks that are offering extra hours for each day of your stay.

All you have to do to take advantage of your extra hours is to show your resort ID to a designated staff member (known as Cast Members) prior to the park's scheduled closing, and obtain a special wrist band.

Airport & Transportation Services

Disney vacation packages are always bundled with great transportation services. As a Walt Disney World Resort guest, you're taken care of in grand style from the moment you arrive in Orlando International Airport.

Not only will you receive complimentary transportation to your resort, but your luggage will be picked up for you and delivered to your room within 3 hours of your check in. Now that's great service!

In order to skip baggage claim at the airport, you'll need to contact the Disney Reservation Center prior to your trip. They'll mail tags out to you, which you'll need to attach to your luggage.

Traveling to the Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks is never a problem as a resort guest. Each Walt Disney resort offers some form of complimentary transportation to the parks - details can be found in the resort listings below.

Once your vacation is over, you'll receive complimentary transportation back to Orlando International Airport. If flying domestically, you can also get your boarding passes and check your luggage before leaving the resort.

Package Delivery

If you're visiting the Disney theme parks with kids, you'll no doubt be purchasing souvenirs! Rather than carry your treasures with you all day, as a Walt Disney Resort guest you'll appreciate the convenience of having your packages delivered directly to your resort.

Walt Disney World Resort Facilities

Disney vacation packages accommodate practically every preference. If you're going all out and plan to stay in a Walt Disney resort, you have many choices to review.

Although Disney does offer resorts within and outside of the theme park areas, I've focused on providing information on those located within close proximity to the parks exclusively.

In order to help you find a resort within your price range, I've created a list based on price categories.
