Las Vegas Tourism

Las Vegas vacations offer you a chance to take a walk on the wild side. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway this probably is not the best choice for you!

Before researching Las Vegas vacation packages and booking your trip, you may want to know a bit more about this neon oasis.

Vegas Weather
Nestled in the desert lands of Nevada, Las Vegas offers a warm climate throughout most of the year. The average temperature is 66 degrees, but it can get extremely balmy and humid in the warm months. Las Vegas vacations during the spring and autumn months offer the best weather.

Airport Information
Las Vegas McCarran International airport is ranked the 8th busiest in the world. It is located 1 mile from the Strip and 5 miles from downtown Las Vegas. The airport has a cab line that often has over a one hour wait, due to the tremendous amount of activity. My advice is to arrange for alternate transportation from the airport, to start your trip on the right note.

Downtown Vegas
Did you know that there is an "Old Vegas"? The original Vegas strip is located on Fremont Street, now called "Downtown Vegas". This is a less glitzy, sometimes less expensive area that offers the Vegas experience, away from some of the hustle and bustle.

Traveler Review

My personal experiences in Vegas are a great example of the versatility that this hot vacation spot has to offer. I'm not much of a "party girl", and the thought of throwing money away in the hopes of winning a landfall makes me queasy (I did play a bit, but called it quits after losing a whopping $26...) Despite my somewhat conservative nature, I was thrilled by all that Vegas had to offer.

Walking the Vegas Strip is like going to another planet. The warm night climate was a very welcome experience for a northern girl (at the time), and the spectacular lights, street vendors, and festive atmosphere all make for a unique experience.

Everywhere you look, there are displays of lavish architecture, amazing creativity, and experiences that will delight all of your senses. In my opinion (shared by many), Las Vegas vacations should be on everybody's wish list!
