New Hampshire Attractions

If you're planning a vacation, you'll be happy to know that New Hampshire attractions are plentiful and diverse. Whether you're traveling alone or as a couple, or if you have a family, you'll find lots to do in the Granite State.

New Hampshire Golf Courses

New Hampshire golf courses attract golfers of all levels and interests. Ocean lovers can play a round at a spectacular seacoast resort, and those who prefer the mountains can choose from the many New Hampshire golf courses scattered throughout the mountain areas of the state.

If you're serious about golf, you may want to stay at a luxury golf resort. For those who'd rather just "putt around", there are many miniature golf courses in the list of New Hampshire attractions.

Hampton Beach

Located in southern New Hampshire, Hampton beach is a classic New England coastal community. Adorned with shorefront resorts, hotels, and cottages, this popular summer spot hosts free concerts and weekly fireworks.

In addition to the beach, visitors enjoy the boardwalk with it's many shops and restaurants, an amusement park, and Hampton Beach Casino, one of the New Hampshire attractions that draws large crowds for top rated entertainment and concerts.

Along with Laguna Beach in California, and several beaches in Hawaii, Hampton Beach has been rated as one of the cleanest beaches in America. In these days of beach closings due to pollution, this is a very noteworthy fact.

New Hampshire Speedway - Louden, N.H.

NASCAR fans sell out the New Hampshire Speedway twice each summer, to attend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at the Louden raceway. The speedway, which is the largest sports sports facility in New England, is open from April through October.

In addition to the NASCAR races, the New Hampshire Speedway hosts many professional race series that provide great entertainment for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. And if you've ever dreamed of racing on the big track, you might want to check out the racing schools offered at the Louden raceway.

Natural Wonders in New Hampshire

White Mountains New Hampshire
The White Mountains of New Hampshire, covering about a quarter of the granite state, bring visitors throughout all four seasons. Hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, and leaf peeping are all popular activities here.

Mount Washington, located in the White Mountain National Forest, is the highest mountain in the northeastern part of the United States. It is one of the most popular of New Hampshire attractions. True adventurists find the challenge of climbing to the peak, or skiing the rugged terrain, to be exhilarating. The rest of us are happy to scale this enormous mountain by train or on the auto road.

No matter how you arrive, be sure to bring warm clothes. It has been know to snow on the top of Mount Washington during summer months, and this mountain boasts the fastest winds measured on earth!

The Kancamagus Highway is one of the only two designated National Forest Scenic Byways in the northern part of New England. It winds through the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire, from Conway to North Woodstock, a 28 mile stretch.

This incredible roadway weaves its way through the mountains, along breathtaking rivers and forests. A drive here is not complete without a stop along the Swift River, for a picnic, a refreshing hike, or a day of swimming among the rocks and in the water basins below the massive waterfalls.

Polar Caves
Visitors to the Polar Caves in Plymouth witness the spectacular caves and passageways that were left in the wake of a glacier that moved over New Hampshire 50,000 years ago. A walk through this beautiful wooded site gives vacationers a chance to crawl through glacial formations and caves, hike a nature trail, and feed animals at the petting zoo. If you visit, be sure to visit the gift shop. Here you'll find some very unique, beautiful items.

Weather permitting, the Polar Caves are open from early May through late October..
